Malachai Payne began dancing tango at the early age of 14. He started as a competitive escenario dancer, creating and teaching choreography while working deeply with the music. Even though Malachai no longer does choreography performance, his early work gave him insight into the complexities of music and teaching.
After working through University Tango Clubs, Malachai decided to become a tango professional. He moved to Berlin, Germany where he now lives and teaches. Malachai focuses heavily in his teaching on the basic techniques necessary to give dancers possibilities. He believes connection, creativity and musicality are all based in a grounded and clear technique. His number one goal is to share the tools for his students to find their own tango."
